Paul Martineau is one the pioneers of Proto: 48. He offers several important items essential to Proto: 48 modeling. He makes both flat and three point track gauges for Code 100, Code 125 and Code 138/148 rail. He also makes an excellent locomotive quartering jig for converting steam locos and sell Ledloy steel for turning driver tires.

NWSL has been a long-time supplier of Proto: 48 wheel sets in various diameters. Recently they have added drop-in conversions of Weaver, Red Caboose and Atlas SW-8/9 diesels. Their products offer a painless way to get something running quickly in Proto: 48. Their products are available direct or via a number of hobby shops.

Norm Buckhart has a broad range of Proto: 48 wheels available for freight and passenger cars. He also sells wheels for converting lead and trailing trucks for steam. Protocraft sells drop-in conversions for Weaver, Car Works and some Central Loco diesel drives. All of Norm's wheels are done in steel by Steve Grabowski and feature full front and back contours. Protocraft also sells Code 138 rail and a wide range of Proto: 48 trucks in white metal and brass. They also sell a fully working brass AAR Type-E coupler that was designed by the late Bill Clouser.
