Stan is a fine model builder and co-owner of Coronado Scale Models hobby shop. He likes to model pre-WWII equipment and lettering schemes. Stan has recently scratch built several very interesting cars. He uses styrene as his principal material for construction. The first car is a Southern 37' boxcar with truss rods and a steel underframe. The model was built from an old article in the long-defunct Prototype Modeler magazine. The second car is based on an article by John Chapp in the November 1959 Model Railroader. The prototype car featured a King Patented underframe. Stan did a masterful job of recreating the car in P48. Stan converted a Grandt Line frameless tank car to standard gauge. These cars were used on standard gauge long before they modified to narrow gauge. The particular numbered modeled by Stan was converted to narrow gauge then back to standard gauge.
