| Jim Harper took a Sunset Models import of the Southern Pacific A-3 class Atlantic and converted it to Proto48, added sound, new details and an excellent paint job. The SP used these colorful locomotives to pull the Sacramento Daylight between Sacramento and Lathrop to connect with the San Joaquin Daylight. The locos were retired in the early 1950's in favor of larger P-8 and P-10 Pacifics. Jim's model placed second in the Favorite Model contest. The photo was taken by Jim and Leonard Ferreira.
