Jim Harper built this caboose using the Mullet River Model Works SP C-30-1 caboose.   He then added a lot of additional details including a complete interior and working lights.  The effort was good enough to win first place in the judged Caboose category and the People’s Choice category at the Sacramento NMRA National this summer.

Jim has a large Proto48 layout at his home in Utah.   He has nearly completed the rebuild after the move from Reno a number of years ago.   He does a beautiful job on the equipment, track and scenery.  Jim’s hand-painted backdrops are really impressive.
